Nude Nuns With Big Guns, yes really, on the Horror Channel. This was surpisingly good given the title although yes there were a lot of nuns wearing only wimples for no obvious plot based reason. It's a sort of spaghetti western/Mexican drugs/biker gang/Catholic church/revenge thriller and has a scene near the end that will make any man wince

Usagi Drop (live action)
Pretty faithful to the first story arc of the manga and anime. Mana Ashiga, playing Rin, steals every scene and is just the cutest. Lovely, heartwarming movie. ^_^

Much Ado About Nothing. In which Joss Whedon invites all his previous cast members round to empty his drinks cabinet. Black & white, shot almost entirely at Whedon's house and with a cast drawn largly from his previous projects, this does actually work rather well, despite the slight incogruity of hearing ol'Shakey spoke in Yankee accents (last version I saw was the Tennant/Tate one in London a few years ago). Nathan Fillion especially good as Dogberry. 8/10

World War Z Finally caught up with the zombiefest. Deviates just a tad from the book, but still enjoyable to see fast zombies taking over the world. Pitt not too annoying. Oh.. and one P. Capaldi as a WHO Doctor...

Pigs and Battleships: One of Shohei Imamura's early films, a dark comedy drama set in a late 50's/early 60's Japanese port where the main character is a low level thug that ends up getting into the pig business having made a deal with a local businessman that gets the scraps from the US navy ships in the port (hence the title). I really liked it, it has lots of dark humour in it and it's beautifully shot but none of the characters are really likeable which may put off some people. World War Z Finally caught up with the zombiefest. Deviates just a tad from the book, Understatement, why couldn't they make the film like a fake documentary in keeping with the tone of the book? It could have been the Citizen Kane of zombie films!

Thor: The Dark WorldI'm starting to like all this Marvel stuff Loki gets all the best lines and steals every scene. Eccleston suitably dark as Malekith. I think having Joss Whedon involved in AA has prompted everyone to up their game on the subsequent films... there were plenty of Whedon-esque moments in Thor 8/10 Dunno why half the audience bailed as soon as the credits started rolling though... don't they realise they'll miss the teasers during and after the credits??

RED on Film4 which, while pretty good in a turn the brain off sort of way, reminded me a lot of The Long Kiss Goodnight which I thought was better.
