An Adventure in Time and Space... how brilliant was that?? David Bradley superb as William Hartnell. Saturday will have to be very, very good to beat that. Well played BBC, well played.

Aye, that was splendid.
Thought that was a nice touch at the end (you know what I mean), could've been a bit naff, but was done right.

Was good, if a little by the numbers for this sort of docu-drama about TV shows.
As for the end, he was green screened in apparently so they can change that part whenever they need to for repeats.
I wish they shot some missing episodes (Gatiss was talking about nearly just recording all of Marco Polo*) or one of the abandoned stories.
*Not that it looks like they'd have to now, there are pictures floating about of one of the Marco Polo episode film cans.

THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR COMES, PEOPLE!
The Sun had a whooping spoiler on Wednesday. Could've, y'know... put a spoiler before it before just casually announcing it in a side column.

Meh! not like anyone trusts anything that wrag prints about Dr Who these days considering they are always making crap up Watched the Science of Dr Who earlier on iplayer, wasnt bad but they should probably fire the continuity guy for the major error they made with the board(they obviously reshot the alien part afterwards but forget to make sure the board was altered to remove bits prof cox added later). think i'll give an Adventure in space and time a watch tmw afternoon before the special airs.

So, we talk without fear of spoilers?
SPOILERS!
Well... it started off a little, dunno... slow? It felt like it was trying to find itself sometimes...
But it all came together at the end, and special mention of the finale with all of them. And the future one.
One thing that was very noticeable was Eccleston's absence. Every scene with ten and eleven felt like it was screaming for him to be there.
Classic new scene, though (not correctly remembered)...
'Best not let the Americans get it and change history, I mean... have you seen their movies?'

That was fantastic. The christmas episode will have a tough time topping that what with 11's exit. Glad we finally got to see "The Moment" and The Bad Wolf This was a end of days for all three Doctors so it felt sad too this entire episode. Did anyone else watch The Five(ish) Doctors on the red button? It was funny ^_^

Haven't seen the red button thing as i don't have a tv anymore, but the whole anniversary has been perfect with one exception...why ruin the whole thing by having that utterly crap waste of time after-show event? it was cringworthy and ruined what was an otherwise amazing anniversary night for the doctor. Loved the inclusion of the 13th doctor at the end aswell and tom baker as the caretaker was a classy move

Favourite part was the link with One Direction and the insane delay/noise/speaking/repeats/fellas looked like they were drunk-ness of it all. and tom baker as the caretaker was a classy move THAT was the bloody spoiler The Sun gave away

Must of missed that Sun Spoiler. Though Strictly Come Dancing spoiled it by saying all the Doctors were in it. Wish Christopher Eccleston was in it though rather then old footage but we cant have everything I guess. I hear Paul McGann is willing to come back and I would like to see some more of the 8th Doctor during the Time War before he becomes the War Doctor. At some point I should see the movie though i hear its pretty bad.

I liked that special, it retconned cringe worthy bits ("I don't want to go" seems like a less whiny, 4th wall braking moment now) while putting in jokes (like UNIT Dating) and cameos. I knew Baker was going to be in it thanks to people online that don't know how to use spoiler tags but I didn't know how he'd fit in. And that aftershow was awkward as hell to the point where I had to look away. Has anyone seen The Five(ish) Doctors Rebooted? Funny but a bit long. At some point I should see the movie though i hear its pretty bad. Yes and no, it's only 90 minutes so what bits people find uncomfortable will be over with quickly, a shame McGann never got more than that one movie (and even then about a third of it is McCoy or him regenerating) and that one mini episode.

I managed to avoid all significant spoilers in the run up by not reading any newspapers, watching any of the BBC channels or even looking in this thread for the last few months which means I have pretty much all of the special programmes on my PVR so that's a lot to watch. The episode wasn't what I was expecting which was a follow on from the final episode of last series using his timeline as the backdrop rather than a pretty much entirely unrelated story. I enjoyed it though and I assume we now have to renumber Eccleston, Tennant and Smith as 10, 11 and 12. I had guessed the pretty obvious fact that John Hurt was the 'Time War' Doctor and would sit between McGann and Eccleston. My only gripe, a minor one, was there was possibly too much comedy double act between Tennant and Smith. The BBC3 afterparty thing was as has been said toe curling for the most part; did you see the bit when they were interviewing Stephen Moffat and William Russell was picking his nose in the background? They had to cut to a different camera Overall a fitting celebration. Not perfect but they were never going to please everyone. Looking forward to Christmas.

I'm not a fan of the modern Doctor Who stuff, but I thought it was good last night. It did feel a bit dragged out though, could have been shorter and sweeter imo.

Overall, very good. Will have to rewatch a few more times to pick up what I felt were some hidden/obscured references*. Loved the fact that Tom Baker was in (I hadn't seen any spoilers, so that was a really nice surprise). *of course, watching it at the end of a 20 hour day (up at 6am, 12 hours of playing toy trains, 2 hours of travelling, 2 hours of drinking, 2 hours of New Model Army and more drinking, 2 more hours of travelling) meant that I wasn't fully compos mentis while watching it. Shelley saw it 3D at a cinema in Islington and said it was fab. Mate Rob (dressed as 11 (now 12)) saw it with her, then both made it to the gig just in time for NMA to take the stage. The Five(ish) Doctors reboot I thought was great fun, but needed much more Sophie
