I thought it was alright, but it annoys me that Moffat can't even stick to his own canon. There were a couple of gaping plot holes in Listen.

I was....disappointed. I'm gutted I love Capaldi but the consensus on the MCM group on FB looks to be right. They all love Capaldi but think the scripts and stories are p*ss poor and its never Jenna nor Peters fault. It started off SO good. I genuinely got creeped when Rupert and Clara were under the bed for it to then sink down with someone on top of it. I LOVED that part so much. I really don't understand the ending though with the Doctor as a boy, how what was on Ruperts bed was/is actually nothing? (when you could clearly see there was something there once the blanket was removed!). So confused. They should of acknowledged there was something.

Listen was a great scary Who ep. Like proper scary. Great concept, well done. Easily up there with Blink. I liked the fact that you never saw the 'monster' - it fit with that whole 'in the corner of your eye, feeling of someone behind you' mystery expounded in the opening scene. Perfect! First good ep this season.
I thought Capaldi was channelling Baker, T at times.
Sometimes I feel that the more... keen/rabid... fans dissect each ep, each scene, each line far too eagerly - the canon has always had a degree of flexibility to it and is still constantly evolving.

I just don't understand it Is Clara the person the Doctor was talking to at the beginning now we know she gave that lecture at the end? Why in her speech was she saying how there's nothing there, it's not real when we clearly saw something on Ruperts bed? I loved that whole part and would of loved if it stayed that way, even on the spaceship too, they sort of built that up well then let it deflate.

I liked that one, plays on our fears of there being something there in the darkness or are we scared of nothing and it's just our imaginations? I just don't understand it Is Clara the person the Doctor was talking to at the beginning now we know she gave that lecture at the end? Why in her speech was she saying how there's nothing there, it's not real when we clearly saw something on Ruperts bed? I loved that whole part and would of loved if it stayed that way, even on the spaceship too, they sort of built that up well then let it deflate. The Doctor is talking aloud, he even says so "Why do we talk aloud even when there's no-one else there?". Clara going back to the Doctor's childhood, grabbing his leg and then talking to him influenced the Doctor to start looking for what grabbed him when he was a child eventually making Clara go back to the Doctor's childhood and grab his leg... It's a fixed time loop, what happens will always happen and attempting to fix or avoid it will just make it happen in the first place anyway. See Twelve Monkeys.
What I got from the bit at Rupert's was what the Doctor said, it's someone else in the home playing a prank on them.

Cheers MiBu, it makes a bit more sense to me now. MY confusion is quite possibly what made me unable to enjoy it as more as I could of been able to I guess

So....anyone been watching it lately? I mean I haven't watched it since the Robin Hood episode. I'd say you stopped an ep too soon, chap. It's seesawing between inspired and insipid. Deep Breath - pretty good Into the Dalek - quite good Robot of Sherwood - meh Listen - AWESOME!!! Up there with Blink. Time Heist - meh Caretaker - meh Kill the Moon - could have been so much better... silly mistakes let it down badly. Mummy on the Orient Express - okay... ish. At times it really feels like Capaldi is chanelling Tom Baker's 4th Doctor. Go Watch 'Listen' (ep 4), if nothing else.

If there's one thing I've learned from Doctor Who this year it's this: 'Never take your medicine if you're hearing voices.'

Got 26 and would have gotten 27 if my wireless mouse didn't spasm, making me click Mercy instead of Christmas. I'm not lying about that, honest!
Didn't get 5, 8 (damn you mouse!), 12 (chose Ice Warriors, which did appear, the next year...) and 17.

I got 18 right. It was some of the more older episodes I really didn't get or certainly didn't remember a lot of info about.
Well then....the Master theory proved right then in the end. Kind of disappointing though that it was figured out so quickly.

Kind of disappointing though that it was figured out so quickly. The whole Missy-Mistress-Master thing was probably a double bluff. But yes, good episode I thought. Would have been A HELL OF A LOT BETTER if the Cybermen were not plastered all over the news as to them being in the final. Good build up despite that. Oh, and really, really dark stuff.
