Over the weekend I was re-watching some trailers for new shows that will start in September in America that will at some point come over here.
So I figured I'd list some shows that I think will be great starting with -
Even now as I just re-watched it I have goosebumps
Kind of sure that will be my number one show for a while once it airs and unless it turns terrible I'll probably be upset should it be cancelled. As its connected to the Marvel Studio's movie universe (Fox plan to make X-Men and Fantastic Four into their movie universe) it will have a ton of Easter Eggs for the movies and I'm sure help introduce other characters from Marvel that don't quite need their own movies.
So this show looks interesting:
Strictly speaking I thought the trailer made the show look ok but this clip made it look better:
So The Tomorrow People is a 2nd remake of a British TV show that originally started in the 1970's. I dont know much about that but I will say this one of those times that I'm not against a show being remade in America. Unlike when America remade Life on Mars and then turned Sherlock American
As for this show I'll give it a few episodes before I decide I love it or hate it, currently if its anything like the rest of the trailer I'll give it some hope of making it last.
One of the new comedy's that looks good is called Brooklyn Nine-Nine:
The plot looks pretty simple and if I lasts more then one season I'll be a little surprised but I thought the trailer looked funny so heres hoping I'm wrong. Then again the trailer could just be all the funny bits from the show and the rest is rubbish.
Which could also be the case for this new upcoming comedy Welcome to the Family:
Not much to say about this other then it looks funny from the trailer and it might last longer then one season in America. But again that's just based on the trailer so either that's all the funny bits or maybe just maybe there's more better bits that they save for the show.
Now this is a show that I'm looking forward to because of who it stars and that's The Michael J. Fox Show:
If it was a different main actor I might not of watched it though having seen the trailer I might of but only if it was a good actor. So far I feel that this is something Michael J Fox could do. Which isn't surprising since he wrote this show and it has his name in the title.
And Finally the show We are Men:
Now when I saw this trailer a few months back I hadn't seen the show Monk but I liked the look of this and I'd watch it because of Kal Penn who I like
But now that I've seen Monk thanks to FX (well I mean its now Fox) I'll watch it for Tony Shalhoub as well ^_^
Some quick mentions The Show Trophy Wife looks pretty funny but honestly I'm not sure it will last that long. I could be wrong and maybe it will be better then I think but I'll be quite surprised if it lasts long.
The show The Crazy Ones staring Sarah Michelle Gellar (who is HOT! ) and Robin Williams might be another crash and burn series. Sarah Michelle Gellar's last show wasn't that great (The Ringer) and I don't think I've ever seen Robin Williams do a tv show before now. But I do like them both so I hope it works out for them and I might watch a few episodes to see how it will do.
Seth Macfarlane's new live action show Dads was something I thought would be funny but once I saw the trailer....well lets just say if I'd seen this before I saw his film last year (Ted) I probably wouldn't of seen it. It's a shame though as I know Seth Macfarlane shows can be funny and after Ted last year I figured he could pull of a live action TV show; now I'm not sure. It could go like one of his 3 cartoons, Family Guy cancelled a few times and brought back much stronger then before, American Dad cancelled in secret and sold to another network or like Cleveland show which was cancelled after a few seasons and joked about how it would be during the show.
And lastly Us & Them which is the American remake of Gavin & Stacey. Not sure what to make of this one unlike The Tomorrow People I've seem the original series its based on and loved it. The trailer for it was so-so but I felt there were two miscasts in it and that's the woman playing Nessa and the guy playing Smithy. If they changed those actors I feel this might work ok in America proved some of the jokes that worked over here will translate well to an American audience because if it doesn't it wont last long. Also how long will the American version last as the amount of episodes there were here will be about one seasons worth in America.
So are there any new American shows starting from September that you're looking forward to being over here? The ones I've mentioned is only a small handful of the new things starting this year.
