www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/30854846One of the best, most original BBC dramas in recent years and the Beeb can it. Hoping someone will pick it up (are you listening, Amazon?? You did a damn good job on Ripper Street S3, now how about some zombie action?) On a par with Almost Human being canned by Fox (and Firefly... You'll never be forgiven for either of those...) Bah.

Never seen it but shows they really don't have a clue. I know... yet Krap Karaoke (The Voice) and utterly mindless drivel like SnogMarryAvoid continue... 'tis a pity the licence fee doesn't allow one to dictate how my £145 per year gets used.

It's because they know they can get away with more cancellations on BBC Three and Four which a lot of people still don't go on apparently even though everyone has access to them (unlike when we still had analogue). They've cut the budget down on BBC Three and Four and they're getting rid of Three for One+1 but still doing some content on iPlayer (because that's how the target demographic watch TV now apparently). BBC Three used to be fairly good in it's early days with stuff like Monkey Dust and as much as I hate them, was the launch pad for Gavin and Stacey and Little Britain. Now it's the Seth Macfarlane/cheap filler/occasional CG animated film channel. I know... yet Krap Karaoke (The Voice) and utterly mindless drivel like SnogMarryAvoid continue... Because The Voice generates a lot of viewers and Snog Marry Avoid is cheap as hell to film, two film crews at most, one presenter, one voice actress, some people for make-up/clothes and you've filled in 30 minutes for a fraction of the price of a decent drama.

I guess you could say Twin Peaks, but (stranger than the series) it will now return. Quite odd.
And yes, we're all aware that a big stretch during season 2 was terrible.

Never watched the show though I hear it was good. Who knows though Ripper Street was cancelled last year and bought back by Amazon. Maybe the same could happen here say like through Netflix?
EDIT:
Oh and on the topics of shows cancelled way before their time I have to say Spy from Sky One and Dirk Gently from BBC4 -_-

Atlantis has been canceled...
Well I thought this was going to be cancelled after season 1 and personally after episode 1 but the BBC have pulled it now during season 2.

No great loss... we watched the first couple of eps out of curiosity/interest 'cuz there was nowt else on and it was truly dire...

My parents watched it and I sat down to watch a couple of bits of it.
I share your opinions about it, it was bad but I was told I didn't have taste (HA!).
What is it with all of these s**t medieval/fantasy shows the past few years? Except Game of Thrones*, they're all dire with hardly any redeemable features. *Even GoT isn't as good as everyone says it is, it's decent enough though.

Probably is, just checked and they announced The Hobbit films just over seven years ago(!) which is more than enough time to shovel some TV shows out there in a somewhat similar vein.
