It was an episode of two halfs, actually. The initial touchdown and rummage through the bazaar place was interesting, but when all the ritual/singing took place sort of withered away.
The climax actually felt like a damn season finale, pretty epic in visuals, music and dialogue.
One thing I just did not understand, though...
Why the hell did Mr. Who use that flying bike to scoot towards Merry and not just use the Tardis to catch or emerge around her?
Still, was nice to hear him reference Susan.
(Perhaps a clue there?)

Perhaps he knew that the evil beastie would take the TARDIS as a smorgasbord of sentimentality and history, and wasn't willing to take the chance? Also, yes. Nice reference, made me smile very much

I do believe the rumor has got Susan returning for the 50th special. So the mention of her of course could just be a nod to the rumor but hopefully its a sign of her coming into it. David Tennant and Billie Piper are due to return for the 50th and I'm guessing it will be as the half human Doctor rather than the past Doctor. Kind of hope that Jenny makes an appearance too in the 50th though i wont hold my breath on that.
As for Saturdays episode..... its another passable episode, I'm guessing that leaf makes another appearance in the future I assume in a "What if" kind of situation in were the leaf doesn't blind her father leading him to meet her mother. I did hear that the day that Clara's mother dies on the same day that the 9th Doctor meets Rose. I did wonder what would happen if Jack had met the creature in Saturdays episode would it have been just like when he met Abaddon? Just something to think about i guess ^_^

Apparently this episode lost 1 million viewers (TV ratings, not iplayer afterwards). Some call it the 'DA WORST EVAR!' Which it most certainly wasn't.

True, any episode with Amy in is 'DA WORST EVAR!' by my book anyway. Though if i wasnt counting all the episodes that Amy was in my least favorite (not that i say 'DA WORST EVAR!') has to be a episode in season 1. Father's Day, again not 'DA WORST EVAR!' but it was just a little confusing with the whole "Reaper" thing.

the second ep back is generally a bit down on the first though ratings wise so its hardly a sign of the episode being poor, typical rags making claims of doom as usual though lol

I'm probably overthinking it, but I had a thought that the whole episode was an allegory for dementia...
The fact that their was a parasite feeding off of people's precious memories...
There seems to be something building up in the series about forgetfulness/being forgotten.
Also I'm guessing that Clara is... probably Susan, or at least something to do with Mr. Who's family.

Max my friend i doubt that you're over thinking is wrong I mean you're normally right or very close with your guesses that i sometimes wonder if you secretly write for Doctor Who which if true then please bring back Donna Noble So if that's what you think then there's a good chance that its going to happen in some way or shape ^_^ Of course my theory isn't to crack-potted about the leaf and how it might not be there in one timeline so Clara's creation might not happen.

Well Tonight's episode wasn't too bad, liked the way they brought the Ice Warriors back and the story was pretty good as well...a pitty it was let down by crappy lighting that ruined the feeling of being trapped on a sub(certain stages had the right enclosed look but the lighting ruined the atmosphere) and the rubbish soundtrack that ruined whatever mood the more tense scenes would have had(they really need to find somebody who understands restraint when the script calls for it).

That was the best of Gatiss' episodes. And it was no doubt a tribute to Alien, but some things were off. Why were the Russians using British profanity? And why the hell did everybody pop out of the sub at the end with non-thermal clothes when they were at the flippin' North Pole? Place is cold, they're all dead of hypothermia now.
