I played a couple of Yaoi VNs a while back. I quite enjoyed Gakuen Heaven. Uminkeo no Naku Koro Ni is alright too but I felt it was a bit clunky

I am a fan, aye. On console? Corpse Party on the PSP/Vita is worth your time - it's amazing how something what looks like a 16 bit RPG can be so damn frightening at times. It's sequel ' Book of Shadows' feels like a more traditional visual novel with none of that actual walking around the school malarkey, but is an odd sequel in that it's a retelling of the first game but with some subtle and big differences. 999: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors on DS. Stunning. A real page turner, if you will, that is as clever as it is well paced. Sadly I found its sequel ' Virtue's Last Reward'to be a colossal load of rubbish. It always hurts when that happens PC? I have to say that Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni is a beast. I had seen the anime and read the manga before getting the Visual Novel, and so thus knew everything about it... but that still didn't make some parts of it none the less frightening - the whole final section of the first chapter chills me to the bone. Sadly the Western release replaces the Japanese version's music and is of a lesser quality (I have the actual Japanese OST on CD and could never find a way to mod it in), but it does it's job (just don't go searching for the original music, or it'll damage it).

The two Kyle Hyde games count right? ^_^
Time Hollow is a good one if a little straight forward. Been meaning to play 999: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors I just cant find it anywhere to buy it part from ebay and those can be pretty pricey.
