C'mon, chaps, why you not read, eh? I usually have a couple of books on the go, but alway forget to post about them here... Recently finished Joseph Porter's autobiographical account of the late-1970s Anarcho-Punk/squat scene in London, 'Genesis to Revolutions'. He's the drummist/singer with folky-punks Blyth Power nowadays, but back then was involved with Zounds and The Mob, both signed to the uber-anarcho Crass label. Further back, I read the 'Lewis' crime trilogy by Peter May: 'The Black House', 'Lewis Man' and 'The Chessmen' - interlinked stories set on the Isle of Lewis, quite Scandiwegian in outlook. And for a bit of a challenge, I have some German railway books to read (getting some info for my new H0 scale East German toytrain layout). While my schoolboy German skills are slowly coming back to me, the technical language has me google translating frequently! Especially for those compound words the Germans are so very fond of.

I usually have a couple of books on the go, but alway forget to post about them here... The 'Underland' books, for example... 'Warrior Stone' and it's sequel 'White Magic' are the opening books in a YA series by Rob Harkess. Set in a 'Under-London' which mirrors our own, the story revolves around a typical teenage girl who 'drops' though from the real world into below and shows an aptitude as a Warrior. Great concept, Well written, nicely paced and with good characterisation, the story comes across as a cross between the Hunger Games/Divergent type and Neil Gaiman's 'Neverwhere' with a sprinkling of steampunkiness.

I think it falls here, just finished the Kickstartered Time of Eve: Another Act light novel.
Took the original anime characters and plot and expanded on a couple of them a bit (and ignored a couple of others) to give a different insight into those characters. Very nicely done.
Spotted at least one other Neozetaite's name in the 'thank you' listings at the back.

Have been reading the Witcher books when not reading my comics. Onto Time of Contempt now. Loving the books. Been cool seeing some of the game characters popping in and out, (especially seeing as i know what happens to most of then in the end now)

In the mood for some Cold War thrills, I've been re-reading (in story order) the Jack Ryan novels by Tom Clancy (Red October, etc).
Now re-reading crime thriller Angel's Flight (Michael Connolly) and then next up is a pile of vintage books about 'Harry Tate's Navy' - the Royal Navy Patrol Service, which provided the minesweepers, convoy escorts and other small ships around the coast of Britain and the empire during WW2.
