Glad I'm not the only one hankering for some Megaten! I still have my copy of Nocturne(or whatever the uk version was named) somewhere...pss2 is long gone to the console grave but i kept the game as a memento of how awesome jrpg's can be(even with the random battle's every 4 steps lol). I think Nocturne is the only one (that isn't super super rare) that I don't have... I'd love to play it sometime. Back on topic though - I think I'm going to just use my PC until the PS4 is cheap. As I already have a vita I can use that as a peripheral on the 4

£429 to buy a console that has to keep on logging onto a server every 24 hours, has to have an in-built camera setup to be pointing at me (I know they say that you can turn it off but why do you have to set it up in the first place?), restrictions on used games and can only take a game that I buy around to someone else's house once.
I believe the term I'm looking for to describe this is Screw That, I'll just buy a shinier graphics card for my current PC if it really needs one at some point (not had any major problems yet with my nearly 6 year old PC and I have games like Max Payne 3 on high and very high settings).

That does seem to be the general talking point when it comes to buying the Xbox One. Which is basically "f**k it I'll stick to my________ then buy a Xbox One" and no one could blame them too. Meanwhile it seems they're sticking to their guns: www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22812743Still Microsoft are only slightly less hated then EA which isn't saying much: www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22801311Still £429 is a lot for basically "Big Brother is watching you?" don't people know you can do that already for free just by hanging out in a CCTV spot?

Gonna upgrade my PC and stick with my 360 for games i either cant play on it or want to play on xbox instead, may grab a ps4 next year once the price drops and we know how many jrpg's its getting since i have a ton of the ones released for xbox so i may aswell stick to what i enjoy on consoles.
£429 is frickin stupid considering thats not even exchange rate and you know microsoft plans to rip us off when it comes to most of the tv features anyway(no way is the uk version gonna get anywhere close to even half those features at or within a year of launch).

So time for a U-turn says Microsoft: uk.games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/microsoft-reverses-always-internet-used-game-policies-xbox-211818635.htmlSo basically lets just do what Sony is planning instead of this shooting ourselves in the foot business. I'm sure they will recover from this mess but it might be slow to even trust them again. I'm guessing the real reason was game designers not wanting to release a game on to a system that might cost them more money in the long run. Well they did pick a right day to announce this too, right after Sony messed up with its latest update bug.

And the conspiracy theorists are having a field day with this One80 turn by MS - lots of allegations that MS went hardline with the 'what would gamers hate most' list to generate publicity (any news is good news, right?) and let all the hardcore gamers foam for a week or two before U-turning. Problem is, they may have overdone it - the trust issue I've seen mentioned time and time again since the latest announcement. Meh... not that I'm likely to buy this... my last 'console' was a ZX Spectrum 128+ Still have it too... in a cupboard... somewhere...

Currently the response has basically been "we don't care" and no one could blame them either. Of course you'll set get the Xbox Loyalists who wont have a bad word against them despite the facts. GAME have said that they are happy that Microsoft have decided against their used game policy and online requirements. I'm guessing X1 wasn't making them nearly enough pre-orders as they hoped until now and then there's the cost of used games that probably would of killed them a little. So bottom line this was some good news for them of course money wise and I'm guessing that GAME are hoping for more pre-orders after this U-turn. Also Ctrl Alt Del have pictured it as it really is:
