In my prolonged absence I have tried 2 new flavours of Mochi - Peanut and Taro.
The peanut ones, if you like peanut butter, are AMAZING
The taro ones don't really seem to taste of anything, which is a little disturbing.....

Homemade Anko (that's Red Bean Paste). Sadly though I used all the beans that I had so I've made nearly 1 lb of the stuff. Tastes ok though.
Green Tea Mochi for the win!!.
Noodle.
Actually it's nearly 1 Kg that I've made.

Made some Japanese hotcakes from a packet. Very nice. Made some Dorayaki from scratch. Yep, did the whole lot myself with home made Anko and batter. I think next time I'll make them a bit smaller as they were huge. Noodle.

Calbee Korean Cuttlefish flavour crisps. These were very spicy for some reason, mush hotter then they usually are. Might need to stock up again soon on ingredients and try something spectacular or at least get the Teppanyaki used. Noodle.

Tried to make some Yatsuhasi, didn't turn out so good. I just made a giant Mochi instead but I didn't want to eat it and just threw it away. I will try again soon because I'm not going to be afraid of failure. The red bean paste didn't go to waste as I made some more Dorayaki, which I'm actually getting quite good at making. Also I now have Korean pancake batter so I can have a go at making the Korean version of Okonomiyaki and today I purchased some Green Tea Vermicelli so I look forward to trying those out. Noodle.

Well not ate, but drank. Lotte Milkis. This is a drink that comes from Korea and is actually a soda that is made with milk. Now while that may not sound like a good idea, having fizzy milk , it actually tastes like a very sweet cream soda. Wikipedia has show that this is a surprisingly popular drink and is available in many flavours, sadly though all I can get is the standard flavour which isn't so bad but I just wish sometimes we could the more exotic stuff. I think it was £1.65 for a 500ml bottle so it was a bit pricey compared to normal soda but then again it does promise "New feeling of soda beverage" which I think is the marketing trick they learned from the Japanese where by they throw in random English for the sake of it (and yes, I'm well aware of those T-shirts with random characters on them but I wouldn't wear one as I'm sure that there is someone having a laugh with them, I would). Noodle.

Had some Korean Udon Tempura flavour soup today. I'm not sure if I put too much water in as it was a very thin soup with masses of noodles in it. I think the next time I try it I'm going to pad it out with some vegetables other wise it's just going to be spicy fishy water. Jack'n'Jill Salmon Sushi with Wasabi chips. I've had these for a while and thought they really should get eaten now that I've moved on to actually cooking food. They were ok I suppose the chips tasted a bit fishy before the wasabi powder was added and totally killed everything in regards to flavour but I don't think I'll be buying them again as they weren't as good as the eel flavour. Noodle.

puccho fizzy lemon, muscat soda, white peach The only place that I know that sells Puccho has it at nearly £2.00 which even for my tastes is far too expensive but I might be tempted if the price comes down or if it's any good. Noodle.
