Chicken in Cantonese sauce with rice and noodles. Also a packet of Okonomiyaki flavour crisps. Noodle.
Might have a crack at doing something with the Sushi rice and the can of red bean paste that I've got at the weekend.

A big bowl of Nongshim instant Udon noodle soup and some green tea mochi. I was a bit disappointed with the soup as I thought I had picked up two bowls of Tempura flavour but it was still quite nice. Noodle.

Hot and Spicy Tempura Seaweed. For some reason this packet was hotter then the last bag that I tried but it was still very nice. I think that tomorrow I shall have a packet of the Udon Noodle Tempura soup. Noodle.

Hmmm.....I seem to have been slacking a bit with this. Today I had S&B Golden Curry Hot. I've always had an interest in Japanese style curry as it often appears to be a staple of many Anime meals so it was only natural that I should try some. When I made mine I did it in a slow cooker and only added carrots, onion, potato and chicken so it was made in a traditional plain style. It actually turned out alright and while it was the hot one it was actually quite mild and had a good depth of flavour and was not overpowering in the spice department. If I were to make it again I would use less water to make the sauce thicker as it said use 620ml, I would go for 500ml, as you can always add more but you can't take it out. The pack cost £2.99 which might seem expensive for a sauce but Japanese curry is quite nice and should be tried at least once. Noodle.

Tried some Umbrella Cookies from Taiwan tonight. While they had a pleasant look and certainly caught my eye in the shop they were a bit of a disappointment when it came to the actual eating. It seemed as if it was some kind of flavour roulette with them as only a few of them actually had any flavour as the rest of them were just crunchy things in my mouth. I don't think I'll be buying the again. Noodle.

Glico Q Cookies. These are really tiny cookies that come in a little tray (I'm sure the point of them is so people can say kawaii!!, like they do, just before you punch them in the face) and are actually quite nice. Compared to other cookies, these are actually quite soft and have a rich butter taste which meant that the milk flavour while overpowered was just a little hint to let you know that weren't just eating a normal cookie. The other varieties that I have are green tea and chocolate so when I have them I'll post a picture and you can see how small they are. Noodle.

Green Tea Mochi and something form the Philippines called Moby Caramel Puffs that proudly boast on the package No Hulls, No Hard Kernels and Melts in you Mouth. While they certainly do melt in you mouth, they are also incredibly sweet. Don't get me wrong, I like sweet things as much as the next person but these are just too sweet. Noodle.
Going to be making another run into Nottingham and hopefully I'll be picking up something special.

Well as I've been away from my regular PC, I haven't been able to upload many pictures about my culinary experiences with Oriental food (Ok, I'm just snacking really but what the hell, someone has to test this stuff out for you and I'm prepared to make that sacrifice). The one thing that amazes me about Oriental food is their ability to make a Pot Noodle that you would actually want to eat. While the instant Ramen is often portrayed in Anime as the equivalent of our junk food there actually is an interesting assortment of flavours and styles that put many western snacks to shame. This is a prime example of what I would call a super noodle. These are Nissin Soba Noodles and they were amazing. The interesting thing with these noodles is how you actually cook them. Normally you would just boil the kettle and leave them to soak but with these you actually drain them through a series of holes in the top of the lid to get hot but also dry noodles, then you add the sachets and stir. These particular noodles had quite a fishy smell and quite a kick for a chilli noodle that was quite surprising. I'm sure if you wanted to make Yakisoba bread, all you would have to do is to leave the noodles to go cold and then put them in a hot dog bun and wrap in clingfilm. Noodle.

I thought that I would make this a second post as it's about a different item and photobucket is playing up again so all images had to be edited in paint so that why they may be a bit large. These are Glico Q cookies which if you look in an earlier post you'll find my description of them there. This particular flavour is, well, I've no idea really. If you know then, well done to you as I'm sorry I haven't a clue . In the last description I told you they were small and it show my point I've taken a picture of one with a penny. Yes really!, they are that small. You get nine in two trays so maybe good for a lunch box or just for a snack but you could easily eat the whole box no problems. Next flavour will be Green Tea flavour and they apparently are green so I'll just post an image of them with a brief description as Green Tea flavoured things often taste much different. Noodle.

That looks like a macadamia nut in the bottom left corner - were they nutty? Actually they tasted quite buttery and were very soft and crumbly. The problem that I've found is that sometimes these foods don't travel well so it can be quite a mixed bag really as to whether the flavour has survived the journey. A case in point would be 2 packets of crisps that I bought from the same store weeks apart. 1 packet was quite bland and not really that much in the way of flavour and the 2nd bag which arrived that week was explosive in flavour. The last variety that I have are the Green Tea flavour and that usually keeps quite well but I'm not too keen on Meiji chocolate which is made by Glico and I'm sure it used in these cookies too. Noodle.
