Ok So I'v got ahead and ordered some sakura jam.. Yes that is Cherry blossom jam So you don't want me to look for it then?( I thought sakura was a brand in my message to you). Finished that second box of sushi and to be honest the smoked salmon wasn't that bad and the chilli one was ok but as I'm heading into Nottingham I'm going to get myself some rice and red bean paste and other stuff. Found a bottle of Ramune hidden in the bottom of a bag. I've had that chilling all day and tasted ok. Also been eating some more crispy peanuts this time they had a crispy coating that was prawn flavour, they were ok I suppose but the peanut overpowered the shrimp. Noodle.

Ok so tonight's isn't so much what I ate but what I drank. Looking in the stores today I've found that they are now stocking Calpis Water in cans. Now I've only ever heard of this in the R+V anime and had no idea what it actually was, I had never heard of a Cal before and was unsure why anyone would want to drink it's water . So I bought 2 cans of it and I have to say it's not too bad, it kind of tastes like a sweet flat soda but I don't think my can was chilled enough as it still felt a bit warm. I'll put the second one in and give it a few days before trying again. Noodle.

Nothing exotic tonight. Just some Red bean Mochi and some Calbee BBQ grill-a-corn (think fancy Nik-Naks). If I get the time I'll have to see what I've got hidden away as it feels like I'm just eating the same stuff over and over again. Need more variety in my snacking choices, or, I've tried every thing. Hopefully a new Summer line will start soon. Noodle.

Tonight I actually made my own Sushi. Yep!, I really did. Ok so it's not likely to make it's way to the tables of the far east but it made it to my plate and in the end that's all that matters (and the fact that I've kept it down as well ). It wasn't anything too fancy, just smoked salmon with cucumber and Philadelphia with chives. The rice has a layer of poppy seeds and it was rolled the other way round (this was intentional and I'm sure it has a name but I'm too lazy to find out). Much better the that Tesco muck and easier to roll then I thought, most likely beginners luck. i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o595/XxxTootzxxX/004.jpgIf you want the recipe you'll have to find it on Youtube. As I had made 4 rolls, tonight I had the second one and it tasted better having been in the fridge overnight. I also cut it thinner and had it with Wasabi and Soy sauce. Tasted much better.

Not really been snacking on much that was note worthy in the past few days so I decide to change that and opened a packet of crisps. So I went for Calbee Grill-A-Corn Lobster in Supreme Soup Flavour. I've never had Lobster or Supreme Soup before so I have no idea what they should taste like however these Calbee snacks I do like. They have a really strong smell to them that isn't over powering and a nice lingering aftertaste that isn't as earthy as the eel crisps that I tried earlier. This packet came from the little store near to FP in Nottingham and while £1.35 may seem like a lot for a bag of crisps they really are quality. Noodle.

Not much in the way of Oriental goodness as I've been training but I did manage to tempt some people with Okonomiyaki flavour crisps. Going to be having Calbee Seaweed flavour potato chips and some chocolate mousse Pocky later. Noodle.

Supplies starting to dwindle so I'm going to have to restock soon, maybe have a crack at Okonomiyaki. Tonight I found a neglected cup of Meiji Yan Yan Strawberry flavour. I thought that these might have been the Japanese version as they were in a plastic cup rather then paper and were a smaller size but a check on the package shows that they are Chinese. The plastic cup didn't do much to protect them as most of the fingers were broken and had to be dipped into Banoffee Hot Chocolate. Also my last box of Mochi has been finished so that means no more for a while, still if you are going to go cold turkey on Mochi you might as well make it Green Tea. Noodle.

Finished the last box of my genuine Japanese Pocky today. I'm almost certain that the Japanese made ones do taste different to the ones made under license in PRC. Shame really as the only ones I can get now are either Thai or PRC. Need to restock soon. Noodle.

Today I found languishing in the bottom of a bag a packet of Ma Hwa Cookies Croquette De Sesame from Taiwan. Basically these were bread sticks that had been twisted and fried and coated in a thick layer of sugar. I was hoping that they would be soft but they were actually quite crunchy and very sweet with no taste of the sesame at all. Normally I'm not bothered about sweet stuff but I found these to be a little to sweet for me. Noodle.

I know what you mean by the pocky Noodle. I used to be able to go into my local Asian Supermarket and find Japanese pocky. But all they have at the moment is Lucky or Ti-pocky. I dont really like lucky as much but pocky is pocky imho delicius dunking in coffee

I know what you mean by the pocky Noodle. I used to be able to go into my local Asian Supermarket and find Japanese pocky. I know. Where has it all gone?. I used to be able to get at least Strawberry or Plain but now I can't get either of them instead all I can get is Thai or PRC. As for the others, the choices are either Pepero or Lucky Stick which are Ok but Pocky is Pocky but Japanese Pocky is the best. Thankfully though I've got to go through to Nottingham soon for my CRB check so I can stock up and see what the situation for myself. Noodle.
