Thank you! I'm off next week so might pop to China Town I actually didn't know myself so I used google. But now I do know what that stuff is that I've seen in the huge jars in my local(ish) Asian foodstores. Noodle.

Yeah, I know that feeling. Really need to start getting my act together and get back in the kitchen but the problem is that I'm going to be taking over the Saturday shift in the shop so I'll have to do all my ordering online and I can only cook on a Sunday but I can't do anything major as we have a roast in the afternoon.
Kind of sucks as that means I'll miss the in store deals and the websites sometimes don't have the full range. Oh well, have to see if I can a half day during the week and slip off to Nottingham.
Noodle.

Last monthly shop was all oven cooked food. It's easier to monitor the nutrition of, got some really good value and it's easier when there's contradicting work hours when you can't really eat together. Food intake has mainly been spag or pasta bols, chicken in a varity of chinese sauces, lamb/pork/beef/chicken grills with polenta chips and then breaded fish fillets with chips etc. Not too bad I guess as I could be getting worse crap lol. It just feels a bit lacking and I'm not sure why Still having a lot of wholewheat pasta salads at work atm. I'm not spending as much which is good unless I get bored by lunchtime of what I've made haha.

Spinach and Onion fritter-y things for lunch, followed by lemonade scones* with jam and clotted cream. MMMMMMMMMM
* 3 cups self-raising flour pinch of salt 1 cup double cream 1 cup lemonade (R Whites for preference)
Mix it all up gently, knead the resulting dough and then roll out about 2cm thick.
Cut out scone shapes, bake on pre-heated baking sheet @ 200C/Gas 6 for 15(ish) minutes (keep checking them after 10 mins) - they should be risen and a light golden brown on top.
Allow to cool.
Split to eat, apply clotted cream, then jam. Nom.

OMG those fritter things sound amazing! I had a courgette and halloumi pastry thing from M&S yesterday, it was SO nice. I bet it would of been even sexier eaten hot from the oven. Om nom I've been living off a jacket spud with chive phill for the last 3 days for lunch at work. Calorie counting and food behaving is tough Hurry up Monday! I want me some Bryon Burger mwahahaha.

Cooked nikujaga tonight. While I actually have about 3 versions of the recipe in various cook books, the one I actually used is the one published in an issue of Neo (see my sig) with added konyaku and peas. I normally do half quantities but forgot when buying the ingredients.
Edit 12:34 Saturday 23rd------------------------ I should add, if anyone is interested and does not have that issue, I can type out the recipe.

I googled nikujaga and omg it sounds and looks well nice! You can't beat a good beef curry. What was in the goyza, Kirei? did you buy them or make them? I'm going to have a chicken buritto from barburitto for my lunch today. I always tend to go for chicken, brown rice, spicy beans, mild salsa, shrooms, peppers & onion, guacemole, lettuce and jalapenos. I ditch the cheese since i'm good like that lol.

Both the curry and the gyoza were restaurant bought, sadly.
They're pretty much always chicken and sweetcorn gyoza. I really need to make my own but our local Asian supermarkets (all 2 of them) aren't much with the DIY goods.

Mmmmmmm yummy. I really want to try Wagamama here near work. Their noodle & rice bowls and gyoza sound sexy.
I'd love to make my own but I think I'd epic fail and put myself off gyoza lol.
I like pierogi. 2 years ago there was an xmas market hut serving meat and cheese ones up and they were gorgeous! They were't there last year so I'm pondering buying a bag of frozen ones from Gorton market as there's a Polish shop inside. Too bad I don't know what the fillings or cooking instructions are due to being in Polish! lol.
I've been a bad burrito girl. Had 3 in about 9 days. My last visit peed me off to no end. The manager there was doing the meat servings, he had some tongues to do the shredded beef and pork options and gave me the equivalant of a golf balls worth. Livid was not the word! The other servers were great with their portions but that resulted in my not being able to taste nor detect the pork. Stupid manager, he was doing it to those behind me too!!!
I'm going to Rice for lunch so I'll probably get either Jerk Chicken, Salt & Pepper Chicken or Crispy Chilli Shredded Beef. Nom.

Were they nice? I've been pondering the cheese ones! lol.
I'm going to Rice again today! Torn between a lamb grill (you get egg fried rice, salad and a sauce) or my sweet usual Crisp Chilli Shredded Beef!
The Manchester Food & Drink festival is starting tomorrow so on Sat I'm gona go there and try some foodage!
Probably Charophraya (thai), Alberts Sq chop house (their corned beef/corned beef cakes) and the Mac & Cheese stall thats gona be there. Cant wait to see what concoctions of it the stall creates of the latter! Ommy nom nom!

Home made chicken katsu curry tonight. It's not a patch in wagamama's but it's certainly cheaper! And yes, I put sweetcorn and mushrooms in it so I'm at least getting some vitamins and stuff. Attachments:
