Lego City Undercover
This is, if anything, a masterclass on how to use consistent humour successfully. With the reigns off from sole Lego franchises, Travelers Tales have seeming created a playable humour device. Be it slapstick, background jokes, purposeful stereotyping, or a squirrel having a battle with a stripy fish, there's always something going on.

Saw that a 2oth anniversary edition of Another World was available on Steam and was smitten.
If anything this is just one massive nostalgic headtrip back to the early nineties than anything else. And that intro music, by God there's something so evocative about a lessened approach to an aural experience. Some very clever ideas in presentation alone.

Well i'm replaying Mass Effect 2 again until Injustice Gods Among Us comes out. Had been playing a lot of Hitman HD Collection; well at least Blood Money. Favorite level of Blood Money is Curtains Down, its one of those levels were its easy to pull it off with Silent Assassin rating ^_^

Still Lego City Undercover.
The thing is with these sandbox games I always find that the more you play them the better they get... as more things/abilities are unlocked and you get a better feel for the surroundings.
This is true of Lego City. There is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much in there. At 14 hours I've only done about 20%, and there's a lot of diversions that I haven't got the abilities to use yet. The pig finding is the most fun, all because of the fun country music that plays when you're riding them.
It's got a great sense of humour that's child friendly, too:
'Youse better not double-cross me, 'cause the last person that did is now sleeping with the fishes.'
'*Gasp* You don't mean?...'
'Yeah, he now works as a night watchman at the aquarium.'
The guy does a perfect Joe Pesci impression, so it all adds up.

Okay, double post AND I DON'T CARE Started Bioshock Infinite. An odd choice for me considering I didn't like the original at all and didn't bother with the second one, but hey! A new start, yeah? Gotta say that the beginning wasn't as good as the original's, and I could've swore that... that place looked just like the entrance to Rapture (despite the proximity of land). So, racism and prejudice is this game's 'thing'? So far it seems a bit heavy handed (the choice with the baseball). Also THAT moment when you get control of weapons... to be quite honest I was almost physically sick! Perhaps a sign of my age, but violence in the media (and of course real life, but that goes without saying) is really started to repulse me big time. Still, I've got the PC version running on Ultra settings and it had a nice artistic look, like a Disney film if Uncle Walt had been on the wacky weed. Started playing on Hard, after reading that's how the game really settles into its flow - and died about ten times after encountering the first sentry gun, NOT realising that you could destroy the things since possessing them didn't really help.

Started Injustice yesterday and thus far its been pretty good. As a fighting game its pretty standard stuff these days specially when its made by the creators of Mortal Kombat. The story is clearly written by comic book writers and as for the story - *SPOILER*
Comic Back-story:
The Joker tricks Superman into blowing up Metropolis City with a nuke. The Joker kidnaps Lois Lane (who's pregnant with Superman's baby) and attaches her with the trigger to the nuke and when she dies the bomb goes off. Joker then uses Scarecrows fear gas on Superman who then believes that Lois is Doomsday. So Superman takes "Doomsday" off the planet in hopes to defeat him. Batman tries to warn Superman before its too late but just as the gas wears off Superman sees Lois is really who he thought Doomsday is and then she dies in his arms thus triggering the Nuke to go off in Metropolis destroying it. Out of anger Superman goes after the Joker who is under Batman's custody and kills him before Batman can stop him. Then Superman goes after a Dictator and brings him back to the USA to face Justice. Superman reveals himself to be Clark Kent to the world and swears never again shall evil plague this world and establishes a new world order. The President of the USA panics and one of his staff suggests a plan that one come back to him should it fail. The plan is to take Clark's Parents and use them against him, however thanks to the Justice League Clark gets his parents back. Batman works out that it was the President that was involved with the kidnapping and warns him that he made a mistake and that his actions only strengthened "their" resolve for Superman's new world order. The President then questions Batman on why he said "their" resolve instead of "our" Resolve. Thats all i have on the comic thus far as there are still at least 4 issues to go but they have come out yet unless you by the digital version which comes out in chapters.
Game Story:
The game starts on the aftermath of Joke's Nuke going off in Metropolis City and Batman asking where he got the Nuke. Superman turns up and kills the Joker. In the comics its slightly different as you see Superman put his hand through the Jokers chest where as here its Suggested before the title comes up with Injustice God's Among Us. Then it flashes back to the past and basically every villain seems to have broken out and are fighting the Justice League. After they pretty much beat everyone and had then sent back to Jail. Superman goes off world to get rid of Doomsday and Batman gets an alert that there's a bomb in Metropolis. Lex tells him its a Nuke and that the Joker has it. Batman teleports to the Joker's location while the rest of the league head there as quickly as they can. Just as the Joker is about to push the trigger he, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow and Aquaman are teleported away. They arrive in different spots of the Injustice timeline where Superman rules over all alongside most of the Justice League. Green Arrow and Batman were against Superman's idea of a new world order, Green Arrow is killed and Batman has his secret identity exposed by Superman and is basically fighting by himself. Batman is working with Lex to bring Superman down but he needs the others help but cant get it as they have all sided with Superman. So Batman brings over a diffrent universes Heroes where the nuke doesn't go off in order to stop Superman.
So that's what i know so far about the game and i thus far i like it. I will be playing more of it later and as i said its a decent fighting game and the story is worthy of its own comic series or even animated movie. Will say some of the outfits look a little off in this game, ever time i see the Flash on the games cover i think he looks more like the Red Skull then does himself. Also feel that they could of gotten a different voice actor for the Joker because it doesnt sound right; Mark Hamill couldn't of done it? I'm looking forward to one of the future DLC's as Stephen Amell is voicing and giving his likeness to one of Green Arrow's outfits. If you dont know who that is you need to watch Arrow. So far i like this game and recommend playing it

Guild Wars 2 mostly though i'm considering giving Dragon Age a play properly this time since i know have a crap-ton of free trinkets(basically all the freebie stuff stores and Bioware promotions gave away for the game plus its sequel have been made available for free via the dragon age site for all formats) and all the DLC for it.
May play more Simcity 4 as well in a bit since i've not really touched it since i installed it around the same time Chaotico did

Well, im kinda cheating as im not playing it. Watching my brother play Bioshock Infinite. Looks a damn good and you acturly have a worthwhile companion but... {Spoiler}How does Elizabeth know where to go?? Your walking around and she randomly runs to the way you need to go.
I'm starting to think shes awesomely physic or shes undercover and is leading you to your death. Lol
(or the game has weired movement mechanisms, but thats unlikely)

I'm near the end of Bioshock Infinite (this place screams 'LAST LEVEL NAOW!). Played it on hard and by heck those Handymen were a right pain in the posterior. Yet I can see the 'twist' and such being... {Spoiler}Booker is actually a far more major player in proceedings then he thinks. And it will end in the future (I did hear Tears for Fear being played when Elizabeth opened her first rift... and then Cindi Lauper later on...
So... the eighties, then? Also Jennifer Hale sticks out like a sore thumb in the voices.

The other half completed it quite quickly - she said that while the game play and setting is excellent, the ending was all rather underwhelming and over far too soon *shrugs*

Downloaded the Neverwinter open beta client so should be playing that later today once the servers are back from maintenance, from the tiny bit i managed to do before they went down the game ticks all the D&D boxes but is missing a few of the usual suspects where classes and races are concerned, no gnomes as of yet and the classes are limited to a magey type a cleric a thiefy type and 2 warrior variations my guess is the others get added as expansions or via the in game store you can buy stuff from with Zen(the equivalent to gw2's gems)
I shall let you know once i've played it properly beyond creation how good/bad the game is...servers are due back up at 4pm sso i may try again then.
