Reliving some memories from the 90s with The Cranberries.
This was an early classic which they never bettered:

I didn't know who Coeur de pirate were until I played through Child of Light.

You know when you get a tune stuck in your head well ...
It's interesting that it sounds like they sing as themselves for the first few bars before going into character.

Been transposing the Alto Sax part of Take Five to guitar this afternoon, so now I know three different parts (Piano, Bass, Sax).

Had the new Decemberists platter 'What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World' on heavy rotation at the mo (learning the songs ready for when I see them live on the 21st feb ) Pretty good, some very 50/60s sounding tracks, plus the trademark Decemberists storytelling folky stuff.

Realised I still haven't listened to the BBC Radio 4 production of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, so have that loaded up and finished ep 2 as I got to the office this morning. So that makes... six adaptations/versions I've seen/read/listened to (original BBC TV Series, novel, audio book, comic series, live action stage play and now the radio play) And when I've finished that, there's Good Omens downloaded and ready to play.

Having just finished the series I did what we all do, well I do anyway, and get the full OP/ED from Youtube. Thought I'd share

After 12 years in the wilderness Blur return!
The Magic Whip
Did not know what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed it. I found Think Tank to be a sombre, depressing affair, but this (still with their post-Britpop grownup feel) is much more alive. The location it was recorded in has an effect both musically and politically... and that's it's whip, so to speak. There's some catchy songs in here (Ong Ong comes to mind), while things like There Are Too Many of US have a sophistication of maturity.
Blur have always managed to roll with the times, and with 12 years absence, have returned with a very listenable album. Well done to them. Even more impressive is this was apparently knocked up in five days (post production not included).

Yeah, I thought this dude was a one hit wonder and oh how I was wrong. It's not usually my kinda thing either, but I've found myself listening to him a lot lately.
I've also been listening to some Lukas Graham, very underrated in my opinion.
