Listening to Romantic music:
And now I've got Peter Lorre whistling in my head.
I love it as an instrumental without a chorus.

This was a great show, watched the official recording a few times now but fan videos are cooler.

I've been listening to Babymetal (the album) all week and am toning it down now with a spot of Ministry of Sound: Chilled

They don't make pretentious videos like that nowadays... Spiggy in the sun... Patricia on horseback... My counter to this (in terms of pure pretentiousness) can only be this: The pout... the posturing... those trousers

Partially . I have a friend who is also massively in to them (because they're über kawaii and he really likes heavy metal). But you were the point of origin of me hearing them Also, I'd be a Loli if it weren't so expensive

Brushing up on some bass techniques so I've been listening to The Jam - Eton Rifles:
and Duran Duran - Rio
That bass line is awesome.

That bass line is awesome. One of the (many) reasons I love New Model Army is their solid bass lines Stuart Morrow from 1984/5 And then we have Cop Shoot Cop, who regularly gigged 2 bass players (including the one and only time I saw them at Reading festival 1992) And then there's dear old Patricia Morrison with the Sisters of Mercy Even I can play her basslines

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have to look at the New Model Army ones, some interesting little snippets in there. More bass practice ones: And then there's dear old Patricia Morrison with the Sisters of Mercy Even I can play her basslines That song requires a whole two figures to play and you don't even have to move your fretting hand from 7/8 on the lowest strings or 2/3 on the next two up. Still doesn't beat Sly and the Family Stone's Everyday People for lack of movement: G, G, G, G x repeat til end I'd just put a capo on it and drink with my left hand during that song if I ever had to perform it.
