As I'm not reading any Manga at the moment I've also decided to have a look at Girlfriends. So far I've read the first 3 chapters and it's a bit of a slow start but I'll keep with it.

watamote chapter 46, 5 volumes down and the wait for the next chapter begins...i think im gonna hold off on reading more untill there's a few more chapters out as one chapter at a time is just not my thing(specially when the manga is published every 2 weeks it seems and some chapters are bloody short!).

Bakuman # 20Finally arrived, and read straight away. A very good, though predictable ending (lets be honest you knew how it was going to end since {Spoiler}Spoiler]the end of chapter 13 (volume 2 )

Finished Girlfriends. To be honest it wasn't my thing really. I'm guessing that if it had a more comedy element to it then I would have enjoyed it more but I think I'm going to stay away from straight yuri (yes I know that's an oxymoron).

Interesting plot, but feels like it's missing something for me to enjoy it. Will read the next 2 volumes to determine if worth carrying on with the rest of the series I got back in March 2011!

First 2 volumes of Reborn Interesting plot, but feels like it's missing something for me to enjoy it. Will read the next 2 volumes to determine if worth carrying on with the rest of the series I got back in March 2011! It is good but Viz stopped it at volume 16 so if you wanna read after that it'll have to be scanlations. |

That's a shame they finished releasing it after volume 16. Goes upto volume 42 according to Wikipedia. Read volume 3, still a maybe series, probably wouldn't have bothered buying it if I hadn't already had the books Edit - On ebay now, if I've got to read 17 to 42 on a scanlation, might as well read it from 4 to 42, I need the money this month (£56 if anybody is interested, will be willing to drop a bit if purchased off ebay (£51) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111146506253?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 |

Now up to Chapter 32 of Girl Friends, will finish on the commute home later.
Still enjoying it, though I can see where noodle is coming from with his comment... it could be better with more humour.

Proberly would agree,,, but Girl Friends a Yuri/Romance (rather than the standard Romance/Comedy you get from series like Chobits),, So I wasn't expecting any comedy |

It's just that when I read a romance series most of the entertainment for me is derived from the comedy situations that they often find themselves forced into by whatever circumstances that always happen in these series. I'm sure that people see something in a straight Yuri (yes, I know) series that I cannot otherwise they would not be popular. However I'm prepared to give the genre another go so I'm open to offers of completed straight Yuri series that might be worth a look at. Noodle. |
