Whats with all the traincrashes all of a suddern? Pure coincidence, nothing more (especially given the different circumstances of the recent ones) Report in the papers today that the Spanish driver was distracted by a phone/radio convo with another member of staff (either his supervisor or signaller) to the point where he failed to reduce speed and so derailed. The Swiss crash... could be tech/mechanical failure, could be driver error, depending on how well (or otherwise) the track layout protects trains missing signals. I was on the inbound London train immediately behind the HST involved in the Ladbroke Grove tragedy in 1999 (I missed it by seconds) - while driver error was the primary cause, the track layout at the time gave little protection if a train over-ran. I have a rather peculiar fascination with railway accidents - almost 9000 UK railway accident reports, from before the Rainhill Trails in 1830 to the present day can be found here: www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/eventlisting.php

So that's your real name then or are you going to change that line at the bottom. But if you do then this doesn't make any sense. Noodle.

So the Marmite ad seems to be getting complaints: www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-23601215To be honest I just thought the ad was cr*p more then anything. Though I can see why some people might think its a little offensive. EDIT: Oh and I almost forgot but what with Kick-Ass 2 movie coming out soon the Jim Carrey movie snub has come up a few times: www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-23603574I myself liked the comic but yeah I'll pass on the movie. I also don't think the movie looks that good so meh.

think yourself lucky you only get one a year, round here we get at least 2 and the local train company puts up scaffolding and bus replacements to justify the raises(strangely in the decade plus they've used this trick only one station has actually been improved and a few signals none of them anywhere near my local station lol).

HS2 to could cost £80 Billion So what, if the country doesn't invest in infrastructure than in years to come it will be stuck, the current Minger to London line can't take any more. I wish people would stop trying to repeat history (most railway lines when first built in the Victorian times were opposed) and support it. Time to upgrade the Victorian system for the 21st century. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23744619And bring in American-style double-decker trains for the heavy used routes if the routes can take it, could be an idea [due to short platforms the doors on the front 9 coaches will only open]
