London fireworks display to be ticketed: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-29234879Seems a good idea to control the crowds in key places, but will be pointless in controlling the crowds outside the ticketing area. It's not like you can hide the fireworks.

hahahaha
So instead of crowds of people in an area enjoying fireworks
There will now be a (likely more disruptive) crowd of people waiting to get their tickets checked so they can get into a slightly less crowded area to watch the fireworks
Really, 100,000 tickets you will have to check, you think thats such a brilliant idea

If I was in London during New Years Eve I'd just go to Primrose hill, Hampstead Heath or other parks like it and watch from a distance, probably nicer to look at instead of creaking your neck up and it'd be cheaper.

I can remember a few years ago standing on top of a nearby hill, being able to turn around 360 degree to see at least 6 different fireworks displays on Fireworks night. High ground and hope the weather is good
The true reason for the ticket cost is to get the cost of the fireworks shared between the public purse and the ticket holders.

Alvin Stardust RIP Had a number of his singles bought during the heyday of glam rock and saw him live a few times on the Glam revival circuit in the late-80s/early-90s.

The knives are out as Lloyds announce they are closing 200 branches (and opening 50 new ones). Personally if they focus on the towns/cities which has 2 branches close by (say within 10 minute walking) then closing the smaller branch is a good idea to save on costs, or even closing both branches to open one larger branch in the middle of them distance wise.

The 'floodgate' works both ways though... UK citizens have an equal right to go work/live elsewhere within the EU. I bet folk would soon complain if that were stopped or restricted somehow. I think it's interesting that you say work/live yet you do not say claim benefits. Just a thought. Noodle. www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29910497In 2011, EU immigrants to the UK ADDED £4.96Bn to our economy in terms of taxes in vs benefits out. Stick that in your pipe Daily HEIL!!

In 2011, EU immigrants to the UK ADDED £4.96Bn to our economy in terms of taxes in vs benefits out. Stick that in your pipe Daily HEIL!! While I read the article I also took the time to read some of the comments that were made and it seems that a few people had noticed some anomalies in the data. Reading further into the comments there was this one which basically said "Those that believe will believe and those that don't will say that there are lies, damn lies and statistics" after seeing this I realised that I was wasting my time reading any further and decided to go to work. Noodle.
